Moriah Steele, the 17 yr old daughter of Rick and Michelle Steele of New Matamoras, Ohio, was enjoying an outing in Scotland during an Ambassadorial visit arranged through her high school by People to People. Moriah had no reason to be fearful but suddenly she slipped from the pathway and plummeted 23 feet into a small gorge. When the injuries were assessed, not only did she have the broken bones of a serious fall, she had sustained two fractures in her neck.

As the pastors of the United Methodist Churches in Newport, New Matamoras, and Rinard Mills we have not only alerted our prayer teams to their sacred duty, we have been energized to support Rick and Michelle and Moriah’s Grandmother Doris. One of the practical ways we can help is to give you an opportunity to support them financially. There will be many expenses as Moriah’s parents get emergency passports, travel dollars and the like during Moriah’s expected weeks in Scotland hospitals before she can be safely transported back home. We know that you will help in this very practical way because you know the anguish of a parent’s turmoil at this time of feeling so helpless.
